In Romania, 18,000 preterm babies are born every year. In our country there is no multidisciplinary monitoring centre after the discharge of these babies. The state has not invested in such centres, meaning that only about 20% of preterm families have access to quality care for their babies.
Did you know?
There are thousands of families that are waiting for months on appointments or slots available for state-funded therapies every year? And that the state only sponsors 10 sessions over 6 months of therapy, although there are tens of thousands of children who need 10 sessions per week?
In this context, the Preterm Association has established the first multidisciplinary centre for the assessment of preterm babies and children with birth difficulties. The sessions are FREE and addressed to all families in Romania.
